Our Story

Catati began in the simplest, most personal way: with us — Shien and Gloria — and our two much‑loved cats, Enheng (a sleek black domestic shorthair) and Madai (a fluffy tortoiseshell longhair with a queenly personality).

Like so many cat parents, we just wanted to give them the very best. But the more we searched, the more we found that choices for cats in New Zealand were either too expensive or too limited. So we started doing what any determined cat lovers would do — sourcing better options ourselves, calling suppliers, and importing small batches from China so Enheng and Madai could have products that were safe, comfy, and genuinely cat‑approved.

That little act of love turned into a bigger realisation: if we were struggling to find good value and good quality for our two, other cat families must be, too. What began as a living‑room project became a clear mission — to build a brand that is for cats only, priced fairly, and guided by a simple promise: Cats Loving It.

From our first shipments of litter and scratchers to opening a calm, cat‑only hotel and a nationwide shop, we’ve kept the same heartbeat: cats come first. Every product we stock is chosen with whiskers in mind and tested by the cats who inspire us. Every suite we design is about stress‑free comfort. Every conversation with a customer carries the warmth and care we give to Enheng and Madai.

Today, Catati is a small team with a big purpose: to make life better for cats and easier for the people who love them. We’re growing thoughtfully — expanding our own everyday essentials, building community through our hotel and showroom, and keeping our focus on value, trust, and real‑world usefulness. Beneath the plans and playbooks, our story is still the same: two cat parents, two beloved cats, and a promise to help every cat in Aotearoa feel right at home — Cats Loving It.
